Iams/Eukanuba Expanded Dry Cat Food Recalls 7/30/10 Procter and Gamble has expanded a recall from last week of an Iams renal diet to include ALL Veterinary (Prescription) Diets and some Eukanuba speciality foods because of a risk of salmonella contamination. If you have any of these foods at home, you should discontinue feeding your cat(s) these foods immediately.The time stamp to look for is Best-By 01Jul10-01Dec11. Canned foods are not part of this recall. So far, there have not been any reports of cats becoming ill. Iams Veterinary Diet Recalls: All dry veterinary/prescription diets and varieties. This includes Iams Low Phs (Urinaire), Multi-Stage Renal, Intestional LR, and Weight Loss dry formulas. Foods purchased at Cats Exclusive can be returned for a full refund. We have pulled the afftected products from our shelves. The Multi-Stage Renal diet recalled last week was not shipped anywhere in the Northwest. Eukanuba Recalls: These dry diets and varieties are included: Eukanuba Naturally Wild, Eukanuba Pure, Eukanuba Custom Care Sensitive Skin. As these are foods not carried by Cats Exclusive, you can contact Procter and Gamble directly for a refund. (see Proctor and Gamble statement below.) If your cat has decreased appetite, lethargy, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, please contact your veterinarian immediately. We will keep you posted of any important developments.
